Unintended Emergent Properties Not Interesting

After a number of presentations and pitches over the years, I think I've concluded that unintended emergent properties of a system are uninteresting. And by far, rarely are justification for the system since it was never the systems intention. This is different from systems that intend to render emergent properties, like DNA.

Anyways, I'm sure there are counter examples.
