Quick note that I'll be at SXSW Interactive this year. Serendipity has put me in Dallas the days prior to work on a few BPM case studies. So I decided to hang on in Texas a few extra days and check out the conference in Austin. I should mention that this trip will be doubly interesting for me.
First, I haven't attended a SXSW conference in over 15 years. SXSW started as a music festival some time ago. When I was in college, I was the program director and a DJ for the local student radio station. We would attend the festival and the conference yearly. I'm stunned how it has matured into such a multiple media event.
Second and of most interest, Kyle Fuller, one of my oldest friends is debuting his new movie on Sunday, "Slam Planet: War of the Words" [Show times and Trailer]. My very first road trip to Austin in high school was with Kyle. I think the movie Dazed and Confused was loosely based on this trip. I plan to attend the premier on Sunday.
