Introducing RSS Slackyon Extractor. This particular incarnation of the tool generates RSS feeds for MP3 files, by reading the ID3 tags.
Eventually it will become a generalized tool for generating feeds of most any media file one would wish to share. Right now MP3s are the most fun.
By why, you may ask. Well, with this tool, a listing of all files can be created, and a listing of recent modifications to the collection can be derived. From there (sometime in the future), a smart aggregator can aggregate many such collections into a base media meta-model.
And of course, from that model, playlists can be created based on the meta-data shared. And then played from the remote sources the media files are served.
I can continue to pontificate on the potential of such a thing here, but I'll let the project page render such thoughts as they become tangible and coherent.
